Ricardo Korall

Ricardo Korall is an Vice President at Riverwood Capital. Prior to joining Riverwood, Ricardo was at BR Partners, where he focused on growth investments in the TMT and Consumer sectors in Brazil.

Ricardo holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Insper and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

John Yang

John Yang is a Vice President at Riverwood Capital. Prior to joining Riverwood, John was an Associate at Pegasus Capital Advisors, a middle market growth equity fund, where he focused on investments in sustainability and wellness sectors. Previously, John was an investment banker focused on mergers & acquisitions across technology and consumer sectors at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

John graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Economics with Distinction.

Federico Storani

Federico Storani is an Executive Director with Riverwood Capital. Prior to joining Riverwood, Federico was a Managing Director / Head of Latin America Telecommunications, Media and Technology Investment Banking at Citigroup Global Markets based in New York.

While at Citigroup for 14 years, Federico led the execution of M&A, strategic financing and equity transactions in the industry, involving a wide range of private and public companies. Before Citigroup, Federico worked at Onyx Group and Small Enterprise Growth Fund, two private equity firms based in Argentina.

Federico has a B.A. in Economics (Magna Cum Laude) and a graduate degree in Finance from Universidad de San Andres in Argentina.

Ramesh Venugopal

Ramesh Venugopal is a Partner at Riverwood Capital. Prior to joining Riverwood, Ramesh was in the operating arm at Vista Equity Partners, helping to drive improvements ranging from sales to product at major companies. Ramesh was also a Partner on the deal team at VantagePoint Capital Partners, investing in enterprise software, internet, and energy innovation. Earlier in his career, Ramesh worked at Texas Instruments, where he helped bring products spanning digital and analog technologies to market.

Ramesh has a B.S and M.S in Materials and Geosciences, a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, from Purdue University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He has co-authored seven patents.

Felipe Fagundes

Felipe Fagundes is a Vice President at Riverwood Capital. Prior to joining Riverwood, Felipe worked in investment banking at Citi, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions for telecom and media companies in Latin America.

Felipe holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research: Engineering Management Systems from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Claremont McKenna College.

Vizay Kotikalapudi

Vizay Kotikalapudi is a Principal at Riverwood Capital. Prior to joining Riverwood, Vizay held Product Management and Product Marketing roles in Symantec’s Enterprise Security Group. Prior to Symantec, Vizay worked in Engineering, Sales Engineering and Product Management roles at Trust Digital, a mobile security startup acquired by McAfee.

Vizay earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  He also holds a Bachelor of Technology from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University and a MS from Oklahoma State University.

Gustavo Pinheiro

Gustavo Pinheiro is a Vice President at Riverwood Capital.  Prior to joining Riverwood, Gustavo worked at Bessemer Venture Partners, where he led its Brazil investments effort, and later joined BVP portfolio company Enjoei, where he led product development.  Prior to that, he worked at GP Investimentos, where he focused on the information technology and retail sectors.

Gustavo holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA).  He also served as a research assistant at MIT and at Tsinghua University.

Scott Ransenberg

Scott Ransenberg is a Partner at Riverwood Capital.  Prior to joining Riverwood, Scott worked with the Credit Suisse Technology Group in the Corporate Finance, Investment Banking Division based in San Francisco.

While at Credit Suisse, Scott advised on and executed a number of strategic financing initiatives for leading public and private companies in the technology sector.  

Scott graduated from Stanford University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematical and computational sciences and was a captain of the men’s varsity swim team.

Alex Porto

Alex Porto is a Partner at Riverwood Capital. Prior to joining Riverwood, Alex worked at technology-focused private equity group Augusta Columbia Capital and in the Technology Group at Harris Williams & Co., where he focused on M&A advisory for software and services companies.

Alex graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government.

Chris Varelas

Chris Varelas is a Co-founding Partner of Riverwood Capital. Prior to establishing Riverwood, Chris worked at Salomon Brothers/Citi as Global Head of Technology, Media & Telecom Investment Banking, Head of Citi’s National Investment Bank, member of Citi’s Global Operating Committee and Culture Czar for all of Citi.

Chris earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a BA from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California for which he serves on the Board of Trustees. He is a moderator for the Aspen Institute for which he recently founded the Aspen Finance Fellows program created to produce effective enlightened leaders in the financial services industry.
