Eric Ma

Eric Ma is a Principal at Riverwood Capital. Prior to joining Riverwood, Eric was at Savano Capital Partners, a late-stage venture capital fund, where he focused on investments in growth-oriented technology companies through primary and secondary transactions. Eric began his career advising middle-market companies on M&A and financing transactions at Davis Capital.

Eric graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences.

Joaquim Lima

Joaquim Lima is a Partner at Riverwood Capital, where he focuses on Latin America. Prior to joining Riverwood in 2011, Joaquim was an Investment Officer with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private investment arm of the World Bank Group, where he focused in the technology industry and other sectors in Latin America, based in Washington DC and São Paulo.  Prior to that, Joaquim was an M&A/corporate development and IR executive with Brasil Telecom and worked in investment banking at Citi in Brazil.

Joaquim holds an MSc in Finance from City University of London, where he was a Chevening Scholar, and a BSc degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE).

Joe De Pinho

Joe De Pinho is a Partner at Riverwood Capital.  Prior to Riverwood, Joe led corporate development at Pixeon, a Riverwood portfolio company, where he focused on M&A and corporate strategy.  Joe previously led corporate development at Riverwood portfolio company Pixeon, where he executed an active consolidation strategy. Earlier in his career, Joe worked in investment banking at J.P. Morgan and in management consulting at McKinsey & Company.

Joe earned an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he received the David L. Dodd scholarship.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University.

Harish Belur

Harish Belur is a Partner at Riverwood Capital, joining in 2012 with a focus on B2B companies. He has been involved with Riverwood’s investments in Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX), Forecast5 Analytics (acquired by Frontline Education), Degreed, ForgeRock (NYSE: FORG), Druva, Alation, and others. Harish currently serves on the boards of Druva, Alation, and Files.com.

Prior to joining Riverwood, Harish worked at Cisco Systems where he led Product Management teams in network infrastructure and IoT. Over his tenure at Cisco, Harish was responsible for several market-leading product families.

Harish has a BTech in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Jeff Parks

Jeff Parks is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Riverwood Capital. Jeff co-heads the Firm and has been involved since inception in the development of the Riverwood Capital franchise and the scalability journey of several of Riverwood’s portfolio companies.

Prior to establishing Riverwood Capital, Jeff was an investment executive at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR), where he focused on large scale leveraged buyout investments in the technology sector, and an investment professional in the Principal Opportunities Fund at Oaktree Capital Management, where he specialized in private equity investment in distressed companies. Earlier in his career, Jeff was an investment banker at UBS Investment Bank in Los Angeles.

Jeff has extensive experience investing in global technology companies. During his career, Jeff has led investments in a vast array of companies and worked closely with several successful entrepreneurs in scaling globally, bringing both capital and expertise to those initiatives. He earned a Dual BA in Economics and Mathematics from Pomona College (Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in Claremont, California.

Jeff is a Director of Degreed, Druva, Files.com, ForgeRock (NYSE: FORG), Gladly, HG Insights, Sauce Labs, Sensor Tower, and Vacasa (NASD: VCSA) (Chairman), and a Board Advisor, and/or former Director of several other companies including Accellion, Forecast5 (Chairman), LogRhythm, Nutanix (NASD: NTNX), SintecMedia (Chairman), Spredfast, Ticketfly, UGSI, and Virtual Instruments. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Pomona College.

 

 

Francisco Alvarez-Demalde

Francisco Alvarez-Demalde is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Riverwood Capital. Francisco co-heads the Firm and has built the Riverwood Capital franchise and been involved in the scalability journey of several of Riverwood’s portfolio companies since its inception in 2008.

Prior to establishing Riverwood Capital, Francisco was an investment executive at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR), where he focused on private equity investments in the technology industry and other sectors, and with Eton Park and Goldman Sachs & Co.

During his career, Francisco has led investments in or been actively involved in the development, operations, and growth of several successful businesses across North America, Latin America, and other geographies. He earned a Licentiate (Honors) in Economics from San Andres University, Argentina including an exchange program at the Wharton School.

Francisco is a Director of Globant (NYSE: GLOB), Greenhouse, Shiphero, and VTEX (NYSE: VTEX), and led investments in, or was a Board Advisor and/or former Director of several other companies, including 99, Alog Data Centers do Brasil, Billtrust (Nasdaq: BTRS), CloudBlue, Dock, GoIntegro, Industrious, Insider, LAVCA, Mandic, MotionPoint, Navent, Nium, Pixeon, RD Station, Sensedia, SecurityScorecard, Suma, Technisys, among others. He is also active in non-profit initiatives related to education and a Global Ambassador for Endeavor.

Tom Smach

Tom Smach is a Co-founding Partner of Riverwood Capital. Prior to joining Riverwood, Tom was the Chief Financial Officer of Flextronics, a multinational technology company.

As an experienced CFO, he understands the importance of not only protecting the financial health and assets of a company by implementing strategies to cut costs and reduce risk, but also providing the resources needed to execute a company’s long-term strategy.

Tom received B.Sc. in Accounting from State University of New York at Binghamton. In addition to serving on the board of various private companies around the world, Tom has also served on various public company boards and is currently the Chairman of the Board of Crocs, Inc. (Nasdaq:CROX).
